From April 25 to 26, as part of the activities of the GEODEEP Cluster, CFG Services participated in the GEOLAC 2017 congress in Mexico with the companies EDF, Aqylon and Clemessy. GEOLAC gathers every year all geothermal stakeholders in the Latin American and Caribbean space to take stock of current and future developments in geothermal energy in the region. This year, public and private developers, investors, development banks and representatives of the various governments of the zone have highlighted the main advances made in recent years, such as the start of the first geothermal power plant in Chile and the rise in power of the GDF-LAC geological risk cover fund covering a large part of the continent. The political will to see new short-term projects in countries that are not very dynamic in the field until then has also been the subject of much discussion, particularly in Ecuador, Guatemala and the Caribbean island countries. A focus on Nicaragua, where public and private investors are particularly active, has reinforced the approach of CFG Services to achieve a FASEP in this country.
